A must-visit pub on Portobello
A friendly, welcoming atmosphere and a wide range of cask ales will greet you as you leave the hustle and bustle of legendary Portobello Road to step into our vibrant dog-friendly pub in the heart of Notting Hill.
Serving up the best of British classics, such as fish & chips and Sunday roasts, you’ll be sure to enjoy the quintessential London pub experience with us.
Our outdoor seating and large windows provide one of the best people-watching spots right in the heart of Portobello Market and Notting Hill. We’re also just a short walk from both Notting Hill Gate and Ladbroke Grove tube stations, making it easy to reach us from across London.
Dan and the team can’t wait to welcome you.
Our iconic history
Situated right in the epicentre of Portobello Road, we’ve been the colourful home to great antique dealers, musicians and artists alike since 1854.
Our legacy boasts a cameo in the opening scenes of Notting Hill, filmed in 1999, as Hugh Grant walks down Portobello Road to his second-hand bookshop where he meets Julia Roberts.
Then, in 2008, a BBC camera crew visited… along with Adele. Yep, THE Adele.
She was here to explain why our pub was a fundamental part of her journey to superstardom (queue the proud moment tears).
Adele gave a tour of the pub, pointing out memorable spots from her younger years, including the table where she once sat while breaking up with her boyfriend via text. This same boyfriend was the inspiration for songs on her debut album, 19.
So if you’re looking for some star-studded inspiration for your next big move, stop by, enjoy a pint and soak up the atmosphere.
We promise it’s worth it.
